Death in a Hospital
Steps to take at a time of loss

Step One: Generally Hospitals prefer for the administrative formalities to be completed prior to our attendance. It is usual for Hospital Bereavement Centres to only be staffed during normal office hours.
Step Two: As soon as practicable, contact the Hospital Bereavement Centre to arrange for the collection of all personal effects and the Medical Certificate of Cause of Death.
Step Three: Assistance can be given to enable you to Register the death. The location, opening hours and appointments procedure may vary between Registration localities.
Step Four: Please contact us to make Funeral Arrangements.
Within the limitations of these pages we are only able to give generalised information. We are always pleased to offer definitive advice for your particular circumstances.
